HPPR Mentorship Program: Applications Now Open!

Application Deadline: November 20, 2026

Hispanic Professionals in Parks and Recreation (HPPR) is excited to invite parks and recreation professionals and students to participate in its Mentorship Program! This initiative is designed to foster professional growth, strengthen connections, and create meaningful opportunities for learning and collaboration within the parks and recreation profession.

Through one-on-one mentoring relationships, participants will have the opportunity to exchange knowledge, share experiences, develop professional skills, and expand their networks. Whether you are an experienced professional interested in giving back or an emerging professional looking for guidance, the HPPR Mentorship Program offers a valuable opportunity to connect and grow.

Become a Mentee

Mentees can benefit from the experience and guidance of established professionals while exploring career opportunities, developing leadership skills, and building meaningful professional relationships.

Eligible participants should be HPPR members who are students, currently employed, or actively seeking employment in parks and recreation. Mentees must be willing to commit time to the program, are encouraged to participate in their local or state parks and recreation associations, and must complete the online Mentee Application.

Become a Mentor

Mentors play an important role in supporting the next generation of parks and recreation professionals. By sharing their experiences, knowledge, and professional insights, mentors can help others navigate career challenges, identify opportunities, and achieve their professional goals.

Mentors should be experienced parks and recreation professionals, members of HPPR, willing to dedicate time to the mentoring relationship, and engaged in their local or state professional associations. Interested professionals must complete the online Mentor Application.

How the Program Works

Following the application deadline, the HPPR Mentoring Task Force will review applications and match mentors with mentees based on professional experience, shared interests, association connections, and geographic location.

Mentors and mentees will work together to determine the duration of their formal mentoring relationship, allowing flexibility to establish a meaningful and productive experience.

Apply by November 20!

Applications are available through the HPPR website and will be promoted through HPPR’s official Facebook and LinkedIn pages.

Whether you’re looking to share your expertise or learn from others, we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to connect, collaborate, and grow with HPPR.
