Breaking Barriers: Key NRPA Certifications Now Available in Latin American Spanish
Hispanic Professionals in Parks and Recreation (HPPR) is proud to celebrate an exciting milestone in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA)—Latin American Spanish translations are now available for key professional certifications!
For the first time, the Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) Exam, along with the Public Playground Safety Standards and Guidelines book (in-person and blended formats), and the Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) Exam (paper/pencil format), are accessible in Latin American Spanish. This is a major step toward equity in professional development, and a direct response to the voices of Hispanic professionals across the country.
HPPR has long advocated for reducing language barriers in certification and training, and we are deeply grateful to NRPA for listening, acting, and supporting broader access to career advancement in parks and recreation.
We encourage all HPPR members to share this important update with your colleagues and advocate within your agencies to ensure staff are aware of these new translated resources.
Together, we’re creating a more inclusive, accessible future for our field. ¡Gracias, NRPA!
